The 5 keys you should know before starting to play golf

Don't lie to yourself, it has happened to all of us who play golf now; for this you must know the 5 keys before you start playing golf.

If someone had guided us in our beginnings another rooster would crow.

That's why this article or mini guide, whatever you want to call it so you don't make the usual mistakes before you start playing.

Personal Experience.

The beginning: Where and how I gave my first golf ball.

Next I will tell you my personal story. I started playing golf when I was in college, one day a friend from the senior high school I lived in said to me: ¨Why don't we go and have a few balls? ¨ - I looked at him with a strange face and said ¨What balls, to the bowling alley? ¨

At that very moment we were taking the car to the nearest driving range we knew, it was Somontes Golf and he wanted to start playing golf.

While we were in the car my friend was telling me what we were going to do, we will go to the court, we will rent some clubs and then with 1 euro coins we will get some balls.

In about 30 minutes we were already hitting balls without any sense with a 7 iron in our hands, which I didn't care if it was a 7 or 3 or a 14, I didn't care.

There came a moment when I even started to get angry because after 14 times trying to do what they called ¨swing ¨ I couldn't hit the ball. My friend told me to take the club like this, bend it a bit and don't try to break the ball...silence came...I concentrated and hit my first golf ball like this.

What a spectacular sensation, what adrenaline rush, what a moment to remember...yes yes, don't tell me you don't remember where you hit and what shape your first golf ball was in, hahaha, don't laugh, we all remember that moment as if it were yesterday.

The golf bug.

The next week I went two more days to give balls, the next 3 and the next was already in the store that had recommended me ¨Castellana Golf¨ buying my first golf club, a 7 iron wilson pro-staff ... I guess before the arrival of dectahlon and online stores of golf clubs will have been the first the club of many players.

The moment came when the 7 iron already hit it decently or so I thought, so I asked in the town where I lived if anyone knew of a golf course, at that time by the year 2000 there was a rustic course that still exists, I spoke to the owner to ask him how to play and he said:

Do you have a license and handicap?

My answer was - What is that?...uhmmmm...wrong...wrong answer.

Yes of course, you remember my friend from the beginning, at some point he told me that he had a handicap of 17, I didn't give it much importance because I wasn't interested either, I just wanted to hit 500 balls a day as far as possible and start playing golf as soon as possible.

The golf virus.

Yes, I had it, I also suffered from it, that disease....blessed disease that only makes you think about golf, when you can go to practice, you only see golf videos, golf websites, golf material pages, custom made golf clubs pages...that one, they call it GOLF VIRUS.

After the 7 iron, came the half set of clubs with 3 woods included and finally within this chaotic process I decided to give my first golf lesson.

Three months had gone by and at no time had I considered having a professional teach me...what with how easy this sport is and I don't even ask for advice.

The outcome.
After this round of golfing life, here are the 5 keys you should know before starting to play golf.

KEYS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU START PLAYING GOLF.
1st Key: BE PATIENT

If you're so impatient, you've got the wrong sport.

Golf requires a lot of patience, a lot, no, a lot. If you are not familiar with this virtue, you better play Paddleball, Football or any other sport that is not Golf or Baseball...if yes...the two most difficult sports to practice.

The ball is stopped, it doesn't move, it doesn't come in movement...it seems easy right...those of you who have never tried going one day out of curiosity and you will see what happens.

A day in golf never repeats, all are different, one is more wind, another colder and all these factors and 3433 more......hahahaha are not 3433 but almost, make this one of the most difficult sports to practice but you know that...

IT IS EXCITING AND WONDERFUL WHEN YOU HIT THE BALL AND IT GOES WHERE YOU WANT.

Seriously, it's not that I'm a golf lover...which I am, it's that there really is that feeling.

I have given many golf courses, many golf lessons with many different teachers and one of the things that everyone has told me is that in golf you have to have Patience.

Stress

2nd Key: FIND YOUR COUPLE

That couple can be your girlfriend, wife, friend or close relative.

Because I say this, because if not sooner or later you will stop playing, this sport is much easier when it is done in company; it is not like running or ¨running ¨ as they call it now that you put on your shoes some helmets and the mess, this requires complicity, overcoming but above all, company.

If you don't do it with someone from the beginning, it will be very difficult for you to get hooked and make it your sport.

In Golf Negralejo the course where I work, the number of people who follow is directly proportional to the partner who goes with him.

For those who are starting to play and for those who have been doing it for a while, just ask them a question

Do you play only golf?

In 99% of the cases they will say...hahaha...playing golf alone is one of the most boring ideas you can have so I don't recommend it.

Don't wait for your first class to make friends with a classmate, the group you start in may not even hit the ball.

3rd Key: SELECT A CLOSE GOLF COURSE

One of the factors that will make you go assiduously and your degree of learning is the proximity to a golf course, it is a very important key before starting to play golf, here Madrid has one of its best advantages since there are 34 golf courses but I also have a bad news only a few are accessible to the whole public.

Even so if you are a resident of Madrid or the surrounding area you will have no problem finding a golf school open no more than 15 km from the city.

4th Key: DO NOT TAKE TOO LONG TO TAKE GOLF LESSONS

Yes, you'll say like you did your truth?...well no...like I did No, hence my advice to give you a golf lesson as soon as possible

This sport is difficult in itself, but if you start it in a self-taught way, it will be much more complicated.

Start by booking a 30-minute lesson, which nobody else does, directly hire a course.

It is very important that the teacher is from your ¨feeling ¨. Not all teachers are good enough for you, so look for the right one. This aspect is really fundamental when you go to the practice court to give balls, sit down from time to time and observe how the teachers give classes, the way they speak, the way they interact with the student.

Another thing that works very well is the recommendation of a friend who already plays golf, but remember THERE IS ONLY ONE TEACHER FOR YOU.

5th Key: TIME

Golf is not expensive in money.

Golf is expensive in time, it requires a lot of time to practice it, perfect it and learn to have fun.

Fun? That word we haven't talked about yet.

The end of golf is the fun, which for some may be to make fewer strokes every day, for others may be to spend some time with his wife and for others to make a stroke and leave her two meters away from the flag.

But you must also be clear about one thing:

golf-handicap golf lessons

I will only give you one statistic to make the previous sentence much easier to see, Djkovic (No. 1 in the world of tennis) wins 85% of his matches; in golf Jordan Spieth wins less than 25% of the tournaments he plays...HIGHLIGHTING...that goes...this is called GOLF.

Our time is the greatest asset we have, when we are single without commitment it is not worth much but when we have family obligations...

Buffffff...yes I sighed too...right now time is worth infinity and I just want to spend it with who I want, doing what I want and the way I want.

So the last question you need to ask yourself is this:

Do I have time to start practicing the only sport I'll ever be able to do in my entire life?
